Beware of Cancellation Fee. Having read the reviews on here, I was excited to try L'Atelier. I'm the first to admit that my hair is difficult, very thick, curly and wiry. It just can't be cut too short or it sicks out for weeks! But even having given this "warning" before I started, I just haven't been happy with any of the three cuts/colors I've had here, so I won't be going back. And I saw two different stylists.

It's also way over-priced. With those prices, I would expect them to be the specialists they claimed to be, given that I specifically asked for someone who can cut curly hair well, when making my appointments.

I'll give "one star" because it's a nice salon, and the stylists were friendly - just no good with my hair!

I called the owner Jenna in an email advising her of what happen.. Without going into details, Her response made me feel she has enough business that losing a customer was not a big deal.. We shall see.. You get enough unsatisfied customers and you will be out of business in no time.

There are several great salons in Santa Cruz. I will most certainly not be recommending this place to any of my friends.
