Went there for a nice dinner not knowing what to expect. I must say, hands down the BEST service I think I have ever gotten in a restaurant! The waiter knew the menu by heart it seemed, and everything he recomended was amazing! The prices were reasonable, the atmosphere was romantic and I would give this place a 5 star rating!

One of the best Italian Restaurants in Santa Cruz. I absolutely love Cafe Mare. My favorite is the prosciutto wrapped chiken, always served nicely with a vegetable and startch. Their pesto sauce is great and tortolini very tasty. Many of the staff are Italian students hosted here giving you a real feel of Italy.

Waiters and waitesses are always friendly and service is wonderful.

They have a full bar and music on various nights of the week.

Centrally located downtown, many other attractions are in walking distance.

I never get bored with this place.

best italian in santa cruz. I am Italian and I can tell you that Cafe Mare is a great restaurant!! Lots of homemade stuff: bread, cheese, pizza, pastas and desserts. Highly recommended.

Nothing special. I'm becoming more and more convinced, with each eatery I try, that there isn't any good food in this town. Cafe Mare features some thoroughly mediocre dishes. Nothing was bad, understand, but nothing struck me as above the ordinary. Los Gatos and points north feature better restaurants by far.
