Great Place!!.
When I go out to eat, I expect to pay a lot for my meal. I also expect to get a lot of food for that money. I'm a bit of a foodie and only want the best. Well, this place did deliver a great meal that I really enjoyed, only the portion was so small that I left feeling hungry still. The price wasn't worth the meal. However, the ambiance is very nice.

Best Burritos in town!.
If you are ever in Santa Cruz near Safeway on Morrissey Blvd and Water Street, you must stop by Tacos Morenos. I stopped by last week for a quick lunch and I could not believe how fresh and juicy the Burrito Al Pastor tasted! It is a little whole in the wall but it has people lined up down Water Street around the corner at the donut shop. I called ahead of time so I did not have to wait in line and as soon as I walked in the door I could smell the amazing aroma of authentic mexican food. No Americanized garbage here! The salsa is so unique and very tasty. For a mere $5.00 I had an incredible meal of barbeque pork with cabbage, tomatoes, salsa, beans on a homemade tortilla. MMMMMMMMMM good! If you want to taste authentic mexican food, this is the place! I have friends that have moved away but every time I go to visit them, they always request that I bring them a burrito from "Tacos Morenos" I don't leave town without a six pac of burritos. Very charming waite staff and I get to practice my spanish too!

Best burritos...ever!!!.
This is the best place to eat in town, and that includes all those disappointing, supposedly "upscale" eateries. The burritos here are perfect (whole bean, no rice, fresh and fluffy flour tortillas), everything is kept clean (even the bathrooms!). The prices are low, the people running the place are nice. All of that equals a perfect place to eat. This is more of a snack bar than a restaurant (you order and pay at the counter, grab a drink, sit down, and the food is brought to you). It has a very limited menu -- burritos, soft tacos, quesedillas. But they stick to what they know, and they do know how to cook taqueria food! They cook their own beans, by the way, and they are delicious. This tiny eatery can get crowded, with people lined up out the door. Go there at non-peak times if you don't want to wait.
