A group of mid-30's professional men and I thought we'd start off a buddy's bachelor party with a great steak dinner before hitting the town. We got a decent meal at best. We began with the appetizer sampler. The artichoke hearts and calamari were passable. The popcorn shrimp could have come from Popeye's Chicken, the buffalo wings were inedible, and the dipping sauces tasted like they were fresh out of a bottle. I have no real complaints about the various steaks we ordered (aside from needing a sprinkle of salt), but the special gorgonzola butter seemed to lack any trace of the cheese, and came as a slab on top of the steaks. Two of my friends said, "It just tasted like herb butter to me -- it could have used some actual cheese on top." The mushrooms my steak was topped with were the little white button variety, had zero flavor, and the red wine demi-glaze was nearly impossible to detect. Also, one of my friends ordered the exact same steak but it looked like we received two entirely different cuts of meat. The vegetable side was fine, but the best way to describe it would be veggie chunks that needed to be cut into the usual bite-sized pieces. The mashed potatoes were pretty tasty, but nothing special. Finally, the drinks we ordered with our appetizer platter didn't arrive until our meal was served -- half an hour after we ordered. We couldn't find our waitress until then, either. I can't imagine our experience at such an established restaurant being that far from their norm, especially on a Saturday night. I was very disappointed. The closest equivalent I can think of is the Sizzler -- another restaurant I don't plan on visiting again. Outback Steakhouse, while not great, would be a step up from my experience at the Hindquarter.
Pros: Steaks were well prepared, pretty good wine list
Cons: Slow service, wonderful menu descriptions led to false expectations of food quality

If you want a great piece of cooked flesh, this is the spot. No hippy veggies, no whole grain fu-fu stuff. Steak house decor with a meat filled menu. The staff are attentive and aim to please. They are ready to listen to exactly how you want your dsih cooked. Check out the nightly specials; Wends is Prime rib, so damn good. The pork chops are double cut and so moist. The baby back ribs are also a winner. You biggest issue is picking just one.
Pros: Great food, good service and great nightly specials
Cons: Parking can be limited, intresting mix of people
