Best copy shop in town. If you're tired of the hassles and cluelessness and high prices and late jobs (or screwed up jobs) that the big box stores offer in their copy centers, then try University Copy.

There's absolutely no "window dressing" or slick marketing here: just a highly experienced person who knows what he's doing, and is charging what's probably the lowest price in town. The shop is noisy, a bit dusty, and sticks to the basics. There are no rows of fancy computers or racks of office supplies. However, it has a strong and loyal following among many local businesses and non-profit organizations for doing what it does so well. Regular customers can even set up an account and get billed at the end of the month instead of paying every day.

Across the street from the bus station in downtown Santa Cruz. Parking is limited, but there are two reserved spaces just for University Copy customers. Biggest con: open only Monday-Friday, normal business hours.

Recommended for: businesses and cost-conscious organizations; people who want real customer service.

Not recommended for: people who "need" a glitzy marketing-driven image to make them feel good about their photocopies, scalpers trying to counterfeit tickets, people who need copies on the weekend or at night.
