Best in Santa Cruz!. I am recommending this place to anybody I know visiting the Santa Cruz area. The price and location made it a great experience, and contrary to other reports here, the room was clean and neat (including the carpet).

pleasant and accomodating. We had a new king-sized bed in the room along with a refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer, Dish network TV and iron/board. Free wi-fi and parking were great (yes, the spaces are small, but have you seen the parking available in the area??). The continental breakfast was fine for our needs. They offered coffee, danishes (yes, pre-packaged), english muffins and fresh fruit. The lady working the front desk was pleasant and accomodating.

Cheap on the beach. If you're looking for a decent place to store your stuff and sleep while you trawl the area, then this little inn rocks! It's all about the location. Steps from the beach, and right between the boardwalk and the wharf, this place offered a great opportunity to visit the area. It's off-season, so we only paid $65/night for a room at the beach.

Modern, perfect for your family. What a pleasant surprise we found! Our usual hotel in Santa Cruz, which is an ocean view hotel (very expensive), was sold out. So we started looking at other hotels within the same area of the boardwalk. We saw the Coast View Inn & weren't sure if we should try it based on the price. We decided to give it a try ONLY because of the location of the hotel. The staff was very helpful & had great customer service. There is a continental b-fast from 6-10am which provides more than just pastries. The room was completely remodeled, so it was very modern and clean. There is a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, etc. in your room which was a pleasant surprise for the price of the room. My fiance' and I will definitely go back to this hotel with our kids. Because it is located right across from the volleyball courts at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk it would be perfect to let the kids come and go as they want during our stay. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ALL. GREAT PRICE, LOCATION & CLEAN HOTEL.

Great location. The hotel was located right in the heart of everything we wanted to do. The manager was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early for check in and were allowed to park in the parking lot so we would not have pay to park . We will diffently stay here again.

Nice location by the beach. The location across the street from the beach and boardwalk is ideal for those with kids. No driving hassles; hotel rooms are basic but clean. We'll stay again!

perfect stay. This is my second visit to Santa Cruz within a year and both times I stayed at the Coastview and will stay there the next time I visit. Jeff is the new manager since our last visit and continues the great service and exceptional knowlege of the area,got us to the golf course with great directions.The new bedding gave me a great night sleep and the continental breakfast included three types of hot coffee,hot water for teas ,bagels,muffins,cereal,juice. There are five restaurants close to or in the same block as the Inn,not including all the food on the Boardwalk right across the street(summers),or the Warf(year round). There is a bowling alley in the same block but can only be heard in the underground parking,not in the rooms. My boy and I come to surf and the Coastview Inn fits everything we need. No bugs.

Great View!!!. "We stayed there twice within a month and found the location to be perfect. Right across the street from the beach and boardwalk, we never had to drive anywhere. Nearby restaurants and the beach were within walking distance. Jeff was very personable and the coffee was excellent even if the breakfast was 5 star, the price was certainly right. We would stay there again for certain.

Room Tip: Simply call ahead and ask for Jeff. he is very he.
