Good place to hang out.. Very nice people hang out here. Good old local boys and girls. It nice to get away from all the tourist spots and have fun the old Santa Cruz way.

New remodle makes a world of difference!. Bar was remodeled about 2 years ago and looks nice, more people from the neighborhood seem to be hanging out there. Biker friendly bar that is clean and kept up is a refreshing sight. As a pool lover it's great, three nice pool tables and two dart boards keep the pub fun. Looks like the new owner bought four or five nice hi-def screens! The bartenders know how to pour a drink, I got a splash of coke in my rum and coke and I din't mind at all ;)

Getting better. This place has not had the most fantastic rep, but I think it is getting much better. The bartenders are very friendly and fun to hang with. If you're a biker, this place is probably heaven; but if you're not, you will be very welcome as wel. Overall, I give this place a good reccomendation because I had such a positive experience there.

Biker Bar. Callahan's is a biker bar, and sometimes the crowd is very seedy. If you don't mind that, or if that's what you are actually looking for, than this can be a fun place. Otherwise, steer clear.

Oh, and I'm not sure if this is still true, but they used to have live rock bands every so often.
