I broken one of my golden rules and went to the first restaurant we stumbled upon in a very touristy place. We should have explored a bit off the beaten track because Gilbert's was really not great. For the most part, the food was rather bland. We suspect the crab cakes were frozen. Even the french fries were undercooked and tasteless. The salmon burger was pretty good - everything else was pretty awful.
Pros: Bland food
Cons: The view

the view was awesome. seals, birds and the cliffs. the place is also suitable for romantic dinners. Great first date. the food was ok. we ordered the Golden Fried Prawns, the Fried scallops and the sirloin steak. The Prawns and the scallops were fried awesomely to a golden crisp., yummy but a bit bland and too dry. Too much flour i think esp the appetizer of shrimps, too much flour. But still it wasnt bad at all. The sirloin steak on the other hand was a bit rubbery. uhm... not that great. but overall, i would still recommend the place :)
Pros: nice ambiance
Cons: crabs are way too expensive
